Mumbai, Aug 26: Tulukoota Bahrain recently organized 'Aatid Onji Dina' at the Indian Club. Indian Ambassador Vinod K Jacob was the chief guest, and the event was also attended by Naveen Shetty Edmemaar, Naveen Shetty Iruvail, and Gagan Suvarna Mulky as special guests.
The programme was directed by Chandrashekhar Suvarna, with support from various organizations, including Konkani and Muslim groups in Bahrain.
Traditional Tulu sports were held, and cultural programmes were organized. Rajkumar welcomed the gathering and gave the introductory speech. Austin Santhosh invited the guests onto the dais. The Indian Ambassador inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
A Tiger Dance was presented by Ganesh Salian and Chirag Suvarna. Over 100 artists performed Tulu folk and cultural dances. Muslim youths showcased a Daff performance. Nearly 20 girls and women participated in the 'Miss and Mrs. Tulunadu' contest.
Religious leaders from Hindu, Christian, and Muslim communities sent messages emphasizing unity and oneness. Chandrashekhar Suvarna and Naveen Shetty were felicitated during the event, along with Sandhya Pai. Joel D’Sa was honored as he is leaving the country.
The event concluded with the serving of over 60 varieties of Aati-themed food. Cultural programmes were coordinated by Namita Salian and Preetam Acharya, while Lolakshi Rajaram prepared various Aati dishes
