Bhatkal, Nov 15: Yeshwantpur-Karwar (tri-weekly) train which started service from Monday November 14 was received with a warm welcome in the coastal region.
Several organizations including Majlis Islah-wa-Tanzeem, Seva Vahini and Rabita Society and a large number of crowds greeted the train with banners, sweets and garlands at 8:20 pm here at Bhatkal railway station.
Train number 16515, Yashwantpur-Mangalore-Karwar Express leaves Yashwantpur at 07.30 hrs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and arrives in Mangalore at 17.45, and departs from Mangalore at 18.00 hrs, and reaches Karwar at 23.00 hrs.
Train No 16516 Karwar-Mangalore-Yashwantpur Express (tri-weekly) leaves Karwar at 05.30 hrs on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and arrives in Mangalore at 10.55 hrs, and departs from Mangalore 11.10 hrs, and reaches Yashwantpur (Bangalore) at 22:25 hours.
The train stops at Udupi, Mookambika Road (Byndoor), Bhatkal and Kumta between Mangalore junction and Karwar. The reserved second seating class fare from Bhatkal to Bangalore is Rs 146.
