Bantwal, Aug 22: The alliance between the Congress party and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has led to a notable shift in the political landscape of Bantwal. Former Minister Ramnath Rai commented on the outcome, stating that Congress has naturally aligned with SDPI to strengthen their position. This alliance has resulted in Congress winning key positions in the Bantwal municipality elections.
Rai noted, "Congress, by aligning with SDPI, has won both the chairperson and deputy chairperson positions in the Bantwal municipality. This clearly communicates to the public that Congress is willing to partner with SDPI, reflecting their political strategy."
He further added, "For many years, Congress has been in an alliance with various parties, but today's election results have made it clear to the people of Bantwal. Especially since SDPI, a party linked with the controversial Popular Front of India (PFI), is now openly collaborating with Congress. This alliance may mislead the general public."
Political reactions, results from Bantwal Municipal Elections
Bantwal's political leader Rajesh Naik stated, "The results of the municipal elections and the increased number of seats won by BJP, Congress, and SDPI indicate a clear message to the public. After the election, Congress and SDPI's partnership has become evident to everyone."
He emphasised that BJP secured 13 seats, marking the highest number of votes. Congress and SDPI, through their alliance, have gained significant authority. Naik pointed out that there had been ongoing discussions about the political dynamics and internal agreements within Congress, but the truth has now surfaced.
