Bantwal, Aug 15: The 78th Independence Day celebration was organized at the Bantwal Taluk Administrative Office by the National Festivals Celebration Committee. The event commenced with the flag hoisting by Tahsildar Archana Bhat.
MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadi, who presided over the event, emphasized the importance of the sacrifices made by our ancestors to secure the freedom we enjoy today. He urged that it is our responsibility to honor their legacy by educating future generations about the value of independence and by uniting to safeguard the nation's interests.
The program also included a special address by Likitha, a student of Siddakatte Government High School, who delivered the keynote speech for the Independence Day celebration.
An impressive march-past was conducted by the police department, fire department, home guards, NCC, and students from various schools. Students from the taluk who excelled academically were honored for their achievements.
The event also recognized the relentless service of personnel from the fire department, MESCOM, forest department, ASHA workers, BLOs, and the sanitation workers of Bantwal Municipality, especially during natural calamities.
Among the dignitaries on the stage were BJP block president Baby Kundar, taluk panchayat EO Sachin, Horticulture Department's Pradeep D'Souza, Town police station inspector Ananthapadmanabha, taluk health officer Ashok Rai, BEO Manjunathan, CDPO Mamta, municipal CO Leena Britto, Forest Department's Praful Rai, APMC secretary Samanth Kumar, and others.
