Byndoor, Aug 13: Udupi district Congress working president Kishan Hegde Kollebylu advised Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole to stop misleading the public with his theatrics, which stem from a lack of basic constitutional and administrative knowledge, and essential legal awareness.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Byndoor Congress office on Tuesday, August 13, Hegde responded to the allegations made by MLA Gururaj Gantihole that the Congress party was infringing on his rights as an MLA and his protest in front of the Byndoor administrative building.
He stated, "MLAs need to understand that, aside from the KDP meetings, they have no authority to convene any other meetings as per the constitution. Moreover, if government officials are to be summoned to a meeting, there are specific rules that must be followed, including issuing notices and proper file management. It's surprising that the MLA lacks the basic knowledge that the constitution does not permit officials to be summoned to private offices for meetings. The BJP is skilled at misleading people with such dramas. If possible, let them protest about the Varahi project. Let them conduct protests for the implementation of schemes that benefit farmers and the poor, and earn the trust of the people. The MLA should stop attempting to create confusion," he urged.
Byndoor Block Congress president Aravind Poojary also spoke, stating that the MLA's protest in front of the administrative building without understanding constitutional rules exposes his lack of experience. "He has no moral right to make allegations against former MLAs. If BJP MLAs are accusing former legislators of corruption or involvement in transfer scams, let them provide evidence. The Congress party will not tolerate any disrespectful remarks against K Gopal Poojary, who has been elected as MLA from Byndoor four times," he added.
Former ZP member Babu Shetty, Shankar Poojary, Nagaraj Shetty, Prakashchandra Shetty, Sadashiva D Paduvari, Nagaraj Ganiga, former ZP member Gauri Devadiga, Madan Kumar Uppunda, and others were present at the event.
