Udupi: MAHE hosts talk on sustainable development, economic policies

Udupi, Aug 10: The department of commerce at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) hosted an enlightening interactive session today featuring Suresh Prabhu, a respected leader and thought influencer in sustainable development and economic policies. Prabhu, who currently serves as the founding chancellor of Rishihood University and guest professor at the London School of Economics, has an impressive legacy as a former union minister with ten portfolios and six terms as a member of parliament.

The talk drew enthusiastic participation from students and faculty of the department of commerce, as well as attendees from TAPMI and other MAHE institutions. Prabhu delivered a powerful address on key global issues, focusing on sustainable development, climate change mitigation, and transformative economic policies in emerging markets. His insights, shaped by years of experience in both national and international policy arenas, provided attendees with a deeper understanding of these critical topics.

The event was further distinguished by the presence of Lt gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, VSM (Retd), vice chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, who offered his support and encouragement for the academic discourse. Dr Everil, who served as the master of ceremonies, skillfully guided the event, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees. The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr Sandeep S Shenoy, head of the department of commerce, who expressed his sincere appreciation to Suresh Prabhu for sharing his expertise and inspiring the audience.
