New Delhi, Nov 9: Day four of the first test match between India and West Indies could well be the final day as India need another 124 runs to win, and West Indies need eight wickets.
Chances are bright for India as two of the greatest cricketers in test history are at the crease - Sachin Tendulkar who created another record on day 2 by passing 15,000 test runs is on 33 and Rahul Dravid, the Wall is batting on 30.
After a good start, Gambhir was the first man to go on third day of the play, after tea break. He scored 18.
Sehwag who scored his second fifty in this test was out for 55 (in 55 balls, with four 4s and two 6s).
But the two experienced batsmen played watchfully to ensure smooth sailing for India.
Earlier in the day, India wrapped up West Indies second innings for 180 runs. Tamil Nadu off spinner R Ashwin bagged six wickets and took a his tally to 9 wickets, which is incredible for a debutant.
Pacer Umesh Yadav too bowled well and took two wickets. Ojha and Ishant Sharma bagged one wicket each.
Though the pitch is expected to assist slow bowlers, India is confident of sailing through the target of 276 without much struggle.
