Mumbai, Nov 9: The ‘muhurat’ of Konkani comedy play ‘Moga Khatir’ was held at St Jude parish hall, Jerimeri, on Sunday November 6.
Lawrence Coelho, editor of ‘Divvo’, Konkani illustrated weekly, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Maharashtra Konkan Association president Walter D’Souza was the guest of honor.
Konkani writer Moga Khatir playwright and stage director Lawrence D’Souza Kamani was present on the dais.
Coelho, in his inaugural address, stressed the need to keep Konkani art alive in the metro. He also urged the associations and individuals to organize more shows of this play.
Actors Francis Olivera, Edwin Banz, Gregory Sequeira, Niddodi, Peter Pais, Fluorine Mathias, Libert Olivera, George Sequeira, Bhayander, Leo Fernandes, well-known Victor Concessao who has rendered two songs to the play, Divvo publisher Suzanne Coelho, William Kumar Thottam, and Harry D’Souza were present on the occasion.
The inaugural show of this play will be held at Our Lady of Nazareth School Quadrangle, Bhayander, on January 26, 2012.
The programme started with a prayer by Flora D’Souza Jerimeri. Lawrence D’Souza Kamani welcomed the gathering, gave a synopsis of the play, and proposed the vote of thanks. Francis Olivera Padukone compered the programme.
