Bengaluru will transform into India’s Nano Tech hub: CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru, Aug 2: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called upon scientists and engineers to come up with innovative nano-technology based solutions for ensuring food and energy security.

Speaking at the Inaugural function of the 13th Bengaluru India Nano conference in Bengaluru on Friday, he said water purification, infrastructure, medicine, health care and waste management besides steos to combat environmental hazards were the other challenges facing the country, which are expected to increase many folds in the near future due to urbanization, population growth and change in life style.

“I believe international research collaboration is fundamental for harnessing the potential of this emerging technology through exchange of information, technology transfer, sharing of costs, risks, access to know-how as well as to develop talent pool towards common good of humanity,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and other ministers attended the inaugural session.

Siddaramaiah said the conference will provide opportunity for networking, interactions for knowledge sharing, exchange of technology, skill development and business collaboration.

He urged the young entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity to establish their new ventures in the State based on the collaboration and co-operations with the visionary leaders and experts and promised to provide all possible support for emerging entrepreneurs.

With the support of premier research institutions like IISc, JNCASR, NCBS, CeNS etc, Siddaramaiah said Bengaluru will be transformed into Nano Tech Hub of India and will keep up its eminent position in this emerging technology in the years to come.

The Chief Minister sarmly appreciated Bharat Ratna Prof. C.N.R. Rao, for his constant guidance in organizing this event right from its inception in 2007.
