Udupi: District YCS Organizes Inter-Parish ‘Konkani Cultural Fest’

Udupi, Oct 27: The district Young Christian Youth Movement (YCS) organized ‘Konkani Cultural Fest’, an inter-parish cultural competition, at Milagres tri-centenary hall, Kallianpur, on Tuesday October 25.

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy registrar Dr B Devdas inaugurated the programme on Tuesday morning.

Kallianpur deanery vicar Fr Stany B Lobo presided over the programme. Mangalore diocesan YCS director Fr Ronald D’Souza, Kallianpur Milagres College principal Dr Neri Cornelio, and Kallianpur parish council vice-president Leslie Lewis were the chief guests present on the occasion.

Nearly 30 cultural groups from various parishes across the district participated in the event. YCS youth were led by president Royston Ferndandes under the guidance of district youth director Fr Edwin D’Souza and convener of the programme Leslie Aroza.

Mangalore diocesan vicar general Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu presided over the valedictory function held on Tuesday evening and distributed the prizes to the winners.

‘Mandd Sobhann’ president Stany Alvares, Kallianpur deanery vicar Fr Stany Lobo, Fr Anil Cornelio, and Karkala deanery YCS director Fr Michael Lobo were the chief guests.

Udupi district YCS director Fr Edwin D’Souza, Royston Fernandes, vice-presidents Sonali Carvalho and Deril Mathais, and secretary Chris D’Mello were present.
