Mangalore, Oct 24: In the wake of the stone pelting incident at St Theresa School, Bendore reported on Sunday October 23, a memorandum was submitted to the city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh at his office here on Monday October 24.
A delegation of teachers, PTA executive members and parents of the school children submitted the memorandum.
They demanded quick action and urged the police to trace the miscreants behind the act as soon as possible.
Media persons were not allowed inside. However, speaking after submitting the memorandum, Bethany Educational Society secretary Sr Rose said the act was condemnable and that it had created a sense of insecurity. It was difficult to surmise what the purpose of the twin attacks could be, other than an attempt to disturb peace, she added.
St Theresa's School was attacked by three unidentified miscreants in the early hours of Sunday. They came on a bike and pelted stones, targetting St Theresa's statue. Though the statue remained intact, window panes of the school were broken. At the same time, another similar attack was made at the chapel near Padua High School, allegedly by the people belonging to the same group.
