Mangalore, Oct 24: A beautician from the city was arrested by the policemen after they traced her with the help of a stolen mobile phone, which she started using after a gap of eight months. She has been identified as Anita D’Souza (30).

D’Souza had, during her visit to City Centre Mall on K S Rao Road in the city about eight months back, found a bag that was lying unclaimed. She took away the bag, and sold gold ornaments worth Rs 3.5 lac found inside. She had kept aside a mobile phone that was also inside the said bag, without using it.

Recently, she decided to use the mobile phone. As soon as she started using it, the policemen noticed it, and tracked her down. After she was produced in a court on Saturday October 22, she was remanded to judicial custody till November 5.

    Well done Khaki's. Same issue happened to me during my last visit to m.lore abt six months ago. The Policemen who is supposed to receive complaint in a police station ask me write a complaint in a manner that my bag was not stolen but fallen away while driving my car shockingly no trace but what i received was just stamped my complaint n returned back to me.

    6 years back when my bag was stolen from the hospital where I had admitted my daughter the person who stole used same sim and when i requested the police to trace him through mobile they told me this is a small case and they have many more bigger cases to solve. I had lost my & my childs passports, cash and so many other important documents including tickets. now after eight month also if they were tracing the mobile means it is really the police have got a huge cash under the chair to do this. but job well done.

    If Only she followed her inner conscience, she would have been a role model for others instead of being a villain.
    The Basic Ten Commandments she ignored to follow, anyway her role models may be those who preach but don't practice the same.
