Bengaluru, May 22: With JDS Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, still absconding in the recording of the rape incidents and sex abuses against women in Hassan district, the City JDS unit has urged the State Director General of Police to get a criminal case registered against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
JDS city unit president H M Ramesh Gowda, MLC K A Thippeswamy and other leaders called on the DGP on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum demanding lodging of criminal complaint against Rahul Gandhi for claiming in his public speeches in Raichuru and Shivamogga that Prajwal Revanna had committed mass rape of 400 women.
A responsible leader making ‘outlandish’ claims regarding mass rapes by the party’s Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna while addressing public meetings and also before the media is a criminal offence, the JDS memorandum said and demanded that a criminal case under IPC section 1860 must be lodged against Rahul Gandhi.
The SIT set up by the government in the Hassan sex scandal and circulation of pen drives containing explicit images of the sexual abuses was ‘completely one-sided’ and is ‘used to target and harass JDS workers and leaders’, the memorandum said.
