Granted bail by Delhi HC in ISIS link case, Ammar Abdul Rehman arrives in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 21: Ammar Abdul Rehman, suspected of having links with the terrorist group ISIS, who was granted bail by the Delhi high court, returned to the city.

Ammar is the grandson of former MLA Idinabba of Ullal. Recently, he was granted bail by the Delhi HC, prompting his return home to the city. His family members welcomed him at the international airport.

Ammar was arrested on August 21, 2021, on accusations of having links with ISIS. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Rehman submitted a writ at the Delhi HC challenging his arrest.

Following a lengthy inquiry, Ammar was granted bail by the Delhi HC due to a lack of witnesses and evidence.
