Mangaluru, May 20: A mobile technician lost his life on the spot after being struck by a car negligently driven by a woman near First Neuro Hospital at Padil.
Harish (43), a technician for Namma Kudla Wizard Cable Network and a resident of Kallapu near Thokkottu, had parked his bike in front of the hospital, was sitting beside the road and talking on his phone when the accident occurred. The driver of a Duster car, approaching from Bantwal, lost control of the vehicle, hit the right-side divider, and collided with Harish after striking his bike. The car continued for 30 meters from the initial impact with the divider, killing Harish instantly.
According to reports, the woman driving the car mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake after hitting the divider, causing the car to speed up and fatally hit Harish. The collision damaged Harish's bike, which then fell into a roadside drain.
Harish is survived by his wife, two sons, mother, brother, and two sisters. His wife rushed to the scene upon hearing the news. Harish had been at the hospital to collect a bill when the tragic incident occurred.
