Bangalore: 103-Year Old Magdalene D'Souza Dies

Bangalore, Oct 17: Centenarian Magdalene D’Souza (103), sister of Allahabad Diocese Bishop Late Baptist Mudartha and Late Fr John Mudartha of Bangalore Archdiocese, died on Monday.

103-year old Magdalene D’Souza, who is the daughter of Late Joseph and Martina Mudartha of Balegundi, Belman in coastal Udupi district, was the wife of Late Rosario D’Souza of Admar, Udupi.

She is the mother of four sons: Dr Thomas D’Souza, former News Editor of Deccan Herald, Late A B D’Souza, former Vice Principal of St Joseph’s Indian High School, Bangalore, Prof Sylvester D’Souza, Maryland, USA and Paul D’Souza of Adamar, Udupi.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday October 18. The cortege leaves the residence at 33-3 Netaji Road, Fraser Town, Bangalore at 2.30 pm followed by Funeral mass at St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Fraser Town, at 3 pm.

    Heartfelt sympathies to the family. I think she might be one of the happiest mother seeing all her children excel in different fields. Anyhow great loss to the Konkani Community world over.
