Bantwal, Apr 24: District president of backward classes unit Vishwas Kumar Das said that the people who benefited from the guarantee schemes of the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government will bless the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections.
He spoke at a meeting of backward classes units of Bantwal and Panemangalore block held at Sparsha Kala Mandir, B C Road on Tuesday to show support to Congress candidate Padmaraj R Poojary.
He said, “The younger generation should remember the difficult days of the days after Independence. We can confidently say that during all the periods of Congress rule, we have provided justice to the poor and made the people of the backward classes powerful. After the Congress government attained power, everyone has become economically empowered under social justice.
BUDA former president Pius L Rodrigues said, “The work of providing justice to the weak and backward class should be done in the present days and social justice can be provided only by the Congress party. I request all to support Congress candidate Padmaraj and vote for him and make his victorious. Without the mission of the party, the weak backward class people cannot come forward in the society. Hence help the Congress win which always responds to people's problems.”
Municipal council member Janardana Chendtimar said that Congress has fielded a capable candidate this time and after 35 years people will bless Congress candidate Padmaraj again.
Congress leader Jagdish Koila, who spoke in the introduction, said that it was the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government that honoured the celebration of Brahmashree Narayana Guru's Jayanti and the Billava community.
