Mangaluru, Apr 23: KPCC working president Manjunath Bhandary criticized the BJP, stating that the upcoming election is a choice between life and sentiments. He expressed confidence that the Congress will secure 24 seats in the state.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, April 23, Manjunath Bhandary said, “The construction of the Ram Mandir remains incomplete. The BJP has turned the Ram Mandir into an election temple. They are seeking votes in its name, with Ram Mandirs in every village and lane. We do not need a brand of Hindutva that spreads hatred, nor do we need lessons in Hindutva from the BJP.
“Let us not bring Hindutva, temples, and mosques into the election. This election is about the people. The BJP alleges that this election is between anti-nationals and nationalists. Who has authorized the BJP to label others as anti-nationals and declare themselves as nationalists?
“During the Assembly elections, we received 43% of the votes. If we maintain the same percentage, we are confident of winning 24 out of 28 seats. When the guarantee was announced before the election, it was merely an assurance. Now that the guarantees are being implemented, people will show their gratitude towards the Congress by voting with the highest percentage,” he said.
