Udupi, Oct 10: The alcoholic de-addiction camps are essential to realize Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of addiction-free prosperous India, said ZP president Katpady Shankar Poojary.
Shankar Poojary was speaking after inaugurating the 447th alcoholic de-addiction camp that was held at the aegis of taluk Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) Kaup zonal alcoholic de-addiction camp organizing Committee, Kaup zone Jan Jagruti Vedike and different social welfare organizations, at SVS Pre-University College, Katpady, near here on Sunday October 9.
The camp organizing Committee president K Satyendra Pai in his presidential address said that efforts are underway to motivate youth alcohol addicts to participate in the camp, in order to lead decent living.
The district SKDRDP director Keshav Gowda, Kote gram panchayat president Dayanand V Bangera, Katpady gram panchayat president Suguna, the Committee honorary president Narayan Bhat, honorary advisor Dr M Ravindranat Shetty were present on the occasion.
The Committee secretary Vidhyalata welcomed the gathering. The camp officer Raghavendra Acharya delivered the introductory address. SKDRDP overseer Prashant T compeered the programme. SKDRDP assistant Vasanti proposed the vote of thanks.
