Mangaluru, Apr 19: In the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, a total of 203 voters, including those above the age of 85 and differently-abled individuals, lost the right to vote from home. Of these, 66 people passed away before polling from home began, while 136 individuals missed the opportunity to vote because they were not present when Election officers visited their residences twice.
Additionally, one voter refused to cast vote when election officers and personnel visited the house.
In Dakshina Kannada district, a total of 8,010 people, including 6,053 voters above the age of 85 and 1,957 differently-abled individuals, were given the opportunity to vote from their homes. The voting process took place from April 15 to 17. However, only 7,807 voters cast their votes, representing a turnout of 97.47%.
