Mangaluru, Apr 16: Sathish Kumpala, the BJP District president, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response to PM Narendra Modi's Roadshow. He also announced the upcoming visits of BJP state president, B Y Vijayendra, and BJP leader, Annamalai, to the district on April 21 and April 22.
Addressing the media at the BJP office in Mangaluru on Tuesday, April 16, Kumpala stated, "The first phase of the election campaign has concluded. On April 21, BJP State president BY Vijayendra will visit Bantwal, followed by BJP Leader Annamalai's visit to Sulia on April 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited the city on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, holding a mega rally and paying floral tribute to Narayan Guru, thereby spreading his message across the country."
Kumpala continued, "During the 2019 elections, PM Modi's massive gathering left a lasting impression, with crowds extending for miles. Although our initial plan was for a formal programme, we later opted for a roadshow. The BJP is delighted by the overwhelming support shown by people from all walks of life – children, youths, women, and families. The Narayan Guru Circle, developed under the leadership of Vedvyas Kamath and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, stands as a testament to our efforts."
He added, "We organized various cultural programmes, including Yakshagana, Kunita Bhajana, and Hulivesha, boosting the party's morale. The support for Capt. Brijesh Chowta and Kota Srinivas Poojary was evident, with blessings showered upon them. The Mahila Morcha, SC Morcha, and OBC Morcha will conduct numerous programmes, with Lawyers Association leader Gourav Bhatiya's participation anticipated. As April 26 approaches, we are confident that the citizens of the district will once again favor the BJP."
Responding to questions about certain leaders feeling sidelined, Kumpala assured, "We will address any misunderstandings and ensure that all concerns are resolved."
Regarding protocol issues during the PM's visit and the expenses of the roadshow, Kumpala clarified, "The roadshow follows election guidelines, and security protocols are paramount. The expenses will be accounted for under the candidate's expenditure, in compliance with SPG guidelines."
On accusations from the Congress regarding the Narayan Guru tableau and textbooks, Kumpala emphasized, "Narayan Guru holds great significance for the BJP, and paying him floral tribute is a sincere gesture. Any discussions regarding the tableau and textbooks have been thoroughly deliberated upon."
The event was attended by Ravishankar Mijar, Nithin Kumar, Premananda Shetty, Sanjay Prabhu, and others.
