Udupi, Apr 15: Murali Kadekar, secretary of Yakshagana Kalaranga, announced the inauguration of the new building constructed by Infosys Foundation Yakshagana Development, Training, and Research Center (IYCTRC) on Sharada Kalyana Mantapa Road. The event is scheduled for April 21.
The festivities will commence at 9 am from Krishna Math, with members proceeding to the new building accompanied by Yakshagana accessories, seeking blessings from Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Sripada and Sri Susrindra Tirtha Sripada from Krishnapura Math and the Krishna statue. At 10 o'clock, the Dvara Pooja of the new building will take place. Sri Vidyasagar Theertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Math, Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Kaniyur Math, and Sri Vedavardhana Theertha Swamiji of Shiruru Math will deliver the blessing messages.
In the afternoon, at 3.30 pm, a Yakshagana performance will be held in the new hall, followed by the inauguration programme, which will be graced by Infosys Foundation Visvastha Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar on the Shree Vishwesha Tirtha stage situated at the back of the building. Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejavara Math, Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sode Math, and Sri Ishapriya Theertha Swamiji of Adamaru will deliver the grace messages. Dr HS Ballal, the Vice-Chancellor of MAHE, will preside over the event, with Ambalapadi Temple Dharmadarshi Dr. Vijay Ballal as the felicitator. Dr G Shankar from the Dr G Shankar Family Trust and businessman Rameshchandra Hegde will be the chief guests.
As a pre-programme, on the morning of April 20, the 52nd Vidyaposhak home, donated by Purushotham Shetty, will be handed over to the beneficiary.
