Udupi, April 13: "Boycotting the elections is not a solution. Vote for those who worked and the deserving instead and get your issues solved," said Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde.
He was speaking during a campaign meeting held at Kigga, Sringeri. "I had tried to solve the problems of Areca nut growers in the past and it was fruitful. BJP partymen were saying before the elections that the Gorak Singh report was not implemented. Their government was in power for the last 10 years and a local farmer was the MP. But they could not implement it. They only know to oppose," he said.
Meanwhile, the Congress candidate sought votes in Hariharapura grama, Koppa.
MLA T D Rajegowda, district Congress president Anshumath Gowda, Koppa block Congress president Sribale Mane Nataraju, Hobli president Kodthal Mitra, Kakkudige Ravindra, State Kisan unit president Sachin Miga, presidents of all the units, members, senior leaders and party workers were present.
