Mangaluru, Apr 10: The IMA Mangaluru will organise Kambala event jointly with Karavali Jodukere Kambala Trust at Gurupura on Friday, April 12.
Addressing news persons on Wednesday, April 10 at IMA House, Mangaluru, Dr. Rajan R K, said that, "This year The IMA is going to organise Kambala. This is the first time where the traditional Tulunadu game will be promoted and this event will be held under the supervision of Dr Avin Alva and the buffalo will be brought on April 12."
He further added that "The IMA cares for our tradition and this initiative is done by considering our interest in the game and also to promote the local tradition. To avoid any mishaps we will be getting 24×7 first aid treatment from Yenepoya Hospital."
Dr. Ranjan R K said that, "The entire game is not sponsored by IMA, but a pair of buffalo will be sponsored by us and although we have participated in the Bengaluru Kambala and many other Kambala events this is the first time from doctors association and the IMA. The buffalo owner is Rohit Hegde and he will decide regarding the jockey. To tackle any medical emergency, ambulance will be available 24×7."
On this occasion, Dr Avin Alva, General secretary, Dr. Nandakishore, urologist, Dr Jerome Pinto, Dr Prasanth and others were present.
