Mangalore: Accidental Fire Damages Two Boats

Mangalore, Oct 7: Two fishing boats, which had been anchored at Kotepura, Ullal, caught fire accidentally on Wednesday October 5. Both the boats suffered extensive damages in the incident. Loss in the incident has been estimated at six lac rupees.

The boats belong to Gangadhar Putran from Ullal Mogaveerapatna, and Ranjeet Kotian. After performing the customary annual Ayudaha Puja, the boats were anchored at the above spot. 

A fish oil processing unit functions some distance away from the spot. It is guessed that sparks which flew from this unit caused the fire. A case was registered in this respect, in Ullal police station.
