Kundapur, Apr 9: In a ghastly accident that took place in front of the KSRTC bus depot on NH 66 on Tuesday afternoon, three passengers in a car sustained serious injuries.

The Toyota Innova Car, carrying three devotees returning to Mahiti from Puducherry after visiting the Kollur Sri Mookambika Goddess shrine, veered off the road divider between the service road and the highway, overturning onto the service road. The car suffered extensive damage, with reports indicating that one passenger is in critical condition, while the other two are also seriously injured. All three were promptly rushed to the hospital.

Fortunately, due to the absence of any vehicles on the service road at the time of the accident, further casualties were avoided.

Kundapur traffic police responded to the scene and registered a case, causing temporary traffic disruption on the service road. Local residents assisted in moving the overturned car to the side of the road, facilitating the smooth flow of traffic.
