Mangalore, Oct 6: In two separate incidents of road accidents that took place in Surathkal on Wednesday October 5, two girls have breathed their last.
Around 7pm a speeding lorry hit a Honda Activa as a result of which a nine-year old girl, Carol was thrown out of the scooter. She sustained severe head injuries and lost her life. She was traveling as a pillion rider with Bernard D’Souza, a Konaje resident who also was severely injured on his hands, leg and head. He was immediately rushed to hospital.
In yet another accident a girl named Ashwini who too was nine year old was hit by a speeding Wagoner car while she was crossing the road. Though she was taken to the hospital the treatments did not have any influence on her and she breathed her last. A case has been registered on the car driver Abdul Jalal.
