Karachi, Oct 6 (PTI): PCB Chief Operating Officer Subhan Ahmad's sudden trip to London on the pretext of meeting ICC officials has left the cricket community wondering whether his visit has something to do with the ongoing spot-fixing trial there.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has also sent it's legal adviser Tafazzul Rizvi to London to attend and observe the criminal case hearing involving the banned trio of Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Aamir.

A former Test captain said the presence of PCB COO in London raises several questions that only the Board can answer. "What is interesting is that normally if Subhan has gone for a routine meeting with ICC officials (if that is the case), why go to London since the ICC headquarters are located in Dubai," the captain said.

Subhan is scheduled to fly to Chennai from London to attend a meeting of Asian Cricket Council's finance committee where the PCB is expecting some concrete development with regards to resumption of Indo-Pak bilateral cricket ties and Pakistan's tour to India next year.

The PCB COO said last week that he was hoping to meet the BCCI officials in Chennai to take the issue of resuming bilateral cricket ties and next year's FTP tour further.

Although the PCB has given out several statements on the issue, BCCI officials have so far refrained from commenting on the bilateral ties or next year's series in India.

A source said that Subhan might also be in London to take care of some financial matters with the ICC or for work related to the finalising the Future Tours Programme.

"Subhan was at the last ICC meeting and he was appointed on the sub committee that will finalise the FTP agreement. One can't confirm if the visit is related to spot-fixing trial but one thing is confirmed that Subhan will be going to Chennai for the ACC meeting," he said.
