Mumbai, Oct 6: After the auto drivers in the city demanded a fare hike, there was a ruckus created on the streets between the auto rickshaw drivers and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) along with Shiv Sena.
Taking law into their hands, members of both the parties thrashed around and destroyed several autos across the city.
Reports also say that in some parts of the city, auto rickshaw drives were burnt by the activists.
Also, a few members of the Shiv Sena forced a group of drivers in Ghatkopar to install electronic meters.
Shiv Sena MP, Sanjay Raut said, "The incidents in Bandra and Vile Parle were orchestrated by Shiv Sena. Drivers who behave arbitrarily have been taught a lesson."At least 10 arrests have been made for indulging in violence.
