Udupi, Apr 1: "The Congress party will be taught a lesson by the people in the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress government in Karnataka is implementing anti-constitution and anti-women policies. We have witnessed their anti-women principles during their rule," added Geetanjali M Suvarna, BJP district spokesperson, during a news conference at the district BJP office.
She said, "In the past, Congress minister Priyank Kharge demeaned women by suggesting they had to climb onto beds for government work, insulting the entire women's community. Additionally, the Congress government has proposed removing wedding chains and toe rings worn by women. Women will respond to this by rejecting the Congress party in the future.
"According to Hindu customs, wedding chains and toe rings hold sacred significance for women, usually removed only during widowhood or medical procedures. However, the Congress party's policy requires women to remove them during academic examinations, revealing their anti-women stance.
"While the Congress government permits wearing Hijab for minorities during examinations, it disregards Hindu customs. This demonstrates the Congress party's lack of respect for Hindu traditions.
"These incidents reflect the Congress party's regressive mindset. People in the state are closely observing their anti-women policies and will express their disapproval during the elections," she concluded.
BJP district chief secretary Reshma Uday Shetty, district mahila morcha president Sandhya Ramesh and district head of the media Srinidhi Hegde were present.
