Udupi, Oct 4: 'Focus', a solo wildlife photography exhibition of up and coming cameraman Raghavendra Kodangala, was inaugurated at Modern Building on Monday October 3 as part of ‘World Wildlife Week’.
Renowned environmentalist Dr N A Madyasta inaugurated the three-day exhibition here on Monday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Madyasta said that the number of wild animals in forests across India is dwindling along with the number of wildlife photographers.
“Print media has to be blamed for this since they use pictures of wildlife by downloading from the internet whenever they need to publish reports related to the environment. The wildlife cameramen need patience, persistence, and long hours of strenuous journey. The legal aspects also hinder the working of wildlife cameramen,” added Dr Madyasta.
A Eshwarayya, and South Kanara Photographers’ Association (SKPA) Udupi zonal president Sridar Shettigar were present on the occasion.
The exhibition will conclude on Wednesday October 5.
