Kundapur, Oct 1: “Traditional culture and upbringing should be inculcated by families so as to preserve it, rather than glorify it for the public. Family institutions should be strengthened to develop humanity in each member,” said district Kannada Sahitya Parishat past president Uppunda Chandrashekar Holla.

He was the chief guest speaking at the valedictory ceremony of the ‘Durga Saptasati’ recitation camp held at Shankar Kala Mandir, Uppunda, near here, on Thursday September 30.

Kannada litterateur U Varamahalaxmi Holla delivered a lecture on the significance of the Saptasati recitation.

Vidwan Tirumaleshwar Bhat was felicitated on the same occasion.
Dravida Brahmen Parishat Uppunda zonal president Sitaram Mayya presided over the programme.

U Ramesh Vaidya and H Jagdish were present on the dais.

Women’s Forum president Nagaratna Hebbar welcomed the gathering.  Sandesh Bhat compered the programme.
