Mumbai, Mar 19: Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat held their cultural arts festival at Bantara Bhavan auditorium, Kurla east on March 16. Bantara Sangha Mumbai president Pravin Bhoja Shetty inaugurated the event.

Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat Maharashtra president Dr Surendra Kumar Hegde presided over the programme held under the cooperation of Karnataka state department of Kannada culture.

CA Surendra K Shetty, Mahesh S Shetty, Ravindra M Bhandary, Rathnaker Shetty Mundkoor, Jagannath N Rai, Harish G Ameen, ladies wing president Shankuntala K Kotian, Sham N Shetty, L V Ameen and Ranjani Sudhakar Hegde were the guests of honour. Ranjani S Hegde was felicitated for her donation for the parishat office.

Bhajans, dance competitions and musical evening were held. Children from Chinnara Bimba, Geeta Herale and Sujatha Hegde performed the skits Hasivu and Hasivina Kolu. Parishat members performed Yakshagana. Karnur Mohan compered the cultural programme.

Kalavidara Parishat Maharashtra vice president Srinivas Safalya, honorary chief secretary Chandrashekar Bhat, honorary treasurer P B Chandrahas, joint secretary Chandravati Devadiga, joint treasurer Navin Shetty Inna Balike, ladies wing president Tara Bangera and convener Ramesh were on the dais.

Members Padmanabha Sasihitlu, G T Acharya, Ashok Sasihitlu, Vasudev Marnad, Kusuma C Poojary, N Prathviraj Mundkoor, Lion Muralidhar Hegde, advisor Dr Sunita M Shetty, K K Shetty, Polya Lakshminarayana Shetty and others were present. Navodaya Kannada Sangha and Kannada Welfare Society members performed bhajans. Vice president G Saraf welcomed. Ashok Pakkala introduced the guests, compered the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
