Bantwal, Oct 1: A skeleton was recovered from near a stream in Denjipady of Narikumbu village near Panemangalore in the taluk on Friday September 30. It has since been identified to be belonging to Latif (23), son of Ahmed from Bollayi Pattugudde in Sajipamunnur village.
Latif had gone missing about two months back all of a sudden, and the family members had lodged a missing complaint with the police on August 10, after their search operations proved futile. It was felt that Latif, who was mentally unstable, would have lost his way. The skeleton was found from amidst thick bushes. The policemen assume that the man had got down from a bus at the spot for some reason.
The identification of the skeleton was done on the basis of clothes, as the body was thoroughly decomposed. The skeleton was found by a person named Ganesh Koraga from Dindikere, who had approached the stream to catch crabs and tortoises. He had informed about the skeleton to the locals, who then passed on information to the policemen.
