Mangalore: National-level Paper Presentation Contest at SJEC Inaugurated

Mangalore, Sep 29: 'Rendition 11', a national-level paper presentation contest organized by the department of business administration, St Joseph Engineering college was inaugurated on Thursday September 29 at 9:30 am at SJEC.
The dignitaries on the dais were Dr Vijaya Prakash, CEO, DK zilla panchayat as the Chief Guest, Fr Henry Mascarenhas, assistant director, SJEC and Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, principal, SJEC as the guests of honour, Fr Valerian D’Souza as the president, Dr Prakash Pinto, dean, MBA, Smita Jesudasan, event organizing secretary, Rayan D’Souza, Lanston Pinto and Divya Fernandes, the student coordinators.
Dr Vijaya Prakash in his inaugural address remarked that the foresight of the college in organizing the paper presentation contest for the MBA and MCom students was commendable. He added that the post graduate students should focus and imbibe soft skills apart from the technical skills to succeed in the corporate world.
Dr Joseph Gonsalvis wished the paper presenters success and hoped that they would enrich knowledge and be open to learning.
Fr Henry Mascarenhas said that the paper presentation would be a success when God showers his blessings and graces.
Fr Valerian D'Souza in his presidential remarks stressed that the paper presentation contest would provide fodder for the thought provoking process of knowledge and learning. He encouraged the students to read and improvise on their factual and empirical acumen.
Fr Valerian D’Souza, director, SJEC conferred the Alumni Excellence Awards to Riyaz, president, Talent Research Foundation of the Batch 2007-09, Nelson Castelino, proprietor, Nithyadar Battery Works of the Batch 2008-10 and Priya Sequeira, Entrepreneur of the Batch 2008-10.
Smita Jesudasan welcomed the gathering. Rayan D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
