Mangaluru, Mar 11: In a grim discovery near Kujumagadde of Kumpala, the decomposed remains of a man were found inside a house. It is suspected that the individual took his own life three days prior, leading to the advanced state of decomposition. The incident has prompted the filing of a case at the Ullal police station.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran Kumar (48), who worked in the housekeeping department of a private hospital in Deralakatte. Kiran entered the house on March 7 and had not been seen outside since then.
On Sunday, locals alerted the Ullal police about a foul odour emanating from Kiran's residence. Upon investigation, in the presence of Deepak Pilar, a member of the Someshwara municipality, authorities discovered Kiran's heavily decomposed body in a hanging position.
The police dispatched the body for post-mortem examination.
