Sullia, Mar 11: District in-charge, health and family welfare minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that decision of whether to ban the dish gobi manchurian or not will be taken on Monday. Tests on the dish are already conducted and the final decision will be arrived on Monday.
Dinesh Gundu Rao spoke to scribes on Sunday in the city. Answering a query on whether gobi manchurian and cotton candy will be banned in Karnataka, the minister said, “We need to check the report on these and arrive at a decision on Monday as there is no clarity on this matter as of now.”
The governments of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu are contemplating to ban the production and marketing of cotton candy after Rhodamine B, a colour, causing cancer was found in it. The Karnataka government also started collecting its samples after the reports. As per the reports, Rhodamine B that is carcinogenic can cause cancer to those who consume it.
