Dubai, Sep 29: The last moment rush for entry tickets to the Konkani musical and drama extravaganza to be held at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High school, has begun. The event, organized by Mangalore Konkans Dubai, will be held on Friday September 30 from 6.00pm onwards.
The first team of artistes lead by Stany Alvares has arrived from Mangalore. Music director Joel Periera, ‘Gulf Voice of Mangalore (GVOM) 2008’ winner Vinay Lewis, and ‘GVOM 2010’ female winner Gladys Lorena are among the artistes who have reached here.
“’Cha Fra's Bhangar Monis’ is an acclaimed play which has been very well received in Mangalore. The award winning play has a good message for the people and will be enacted by professional actors. We are looking forward to performing here and I hope people will enjoy this play," said Alvares who is also a lead actor in the drama.
GVOM winners are also delighted about presenting a major show. James Mendonca, president, Mangalore Konkans, feels that the response for the show is encouraging. “Though there is a mixed audience, some like music and some other drama, but both music and drama on one stage is a rare experiment and people have taken it well. We are looking forward to seeing a packed house,” he added.
The artistes have been welcomed by the president and members of Mangalore Konkans.
Organizers said that the event will start at 6.00 pm and there will be no stage programme or speeches.
