Shivamogga, Mar 8: As the stage is set for the upcoming Lok Sabha contest, political parties are actively formulating their candidate lists, and contestants are strategizing their campaigns.
Congress party, in its release of six candidates for Karnataka, has nominated Geetha Shivarajkumar for Shivamogga. This marks her second attempt in the Lok Sabha elections from this constituency, as she previously contested in 2014 but faced defeat. It appears she is seeking to avenge her previous debacle in the current elections.
The Congress party unveiled its initial list of 36 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. In a significant meeting led by Mallikarjun Kharge, discussions regarding the candidates took place.
The announcement included the names of six candidates for constituencies such as Vijayapura, Shivamogga, Hassan, Tumkur, Mandya, and Bengaluru rural in Karnataka.
