Indian Polo Team Leaves for World Cup


New Delhi, Sep 28 (IANS): An Indian polo team Wednesday left for San Luis in Argentina to participate in the finals of the 9th Polo World Cup Championship from Oct 10 to 12.

The team includes team captain Colonel Tarun Sirohi, Major Ravi Rathore and Major Vishal from the Indian Army's 61 Cavalry, which is based in Jaipur, according to defence spokesperson Col. S.D. Goswami.

The other members of the team are Samir Suhag, Simran Shergill and Gaurav Sahgal, with Brigadier (retd) V.P. Singh as the coach and Vikram Rathore as manager.

Col. Tarun Sirohi is the Commandant of 61 Cavalry.

The championship will witness competition among the world's top 10 polo teams.
