Bhatkal: Strong Currents at Sea Take Life of Woman, Two Others Critical

Bhatkal, Sep 28: A young woman lost her life while playing with the waves at Apsara Konda beach located 32 km from Bhatkal on Tuesday September 27.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Parveen Banu, an IT worker in Bangalore, daughter of Ibrahim. She had come to Bhatkal to attend a marriage, it is learnt.
Along with Parveen, her relatives Ishrath Banu (25) and Sakina (27) were also washed away by the strong currents. Though they were rescued by the locals, their condition is said to be critical. They were first admitted to Honnavar government hospital and later shifted to Manipal hospital.
They were among a group of eight who had come in a car at 4 pm on Tuesday.
Parveen Banu’s body will be buried at a graveyard in Maghdoom Colony. A case has been registered at Honnavar and Bhatkal police station.
