Mumbai, Mar 5: Shantalalaxmi S Udupa (55), teacher at Sri Uma Maheshwari Chinnara Bimba camp, well known Yakshagana artiste passed away due to heart attack at her Soni Apartment residence, Jerimeri, Sakinaka in the morning on March 4.
She hailed from Bada Ermal, Udupi and was the wife of S N Udupa, the chief priest of Jagruthi Vinayaka Mandira, Kurla west. She was a drama artiste and an active worker of Sion Gokula. She is survived by husband, a son, two daughters and a large number of friends and relatives. Her last rites were held at Kurla Bailbazar Sonapur crematorium on Monday evening, March 4.
Prakash B Bhandary, founder of Chinnara Bimba, BSKBA and Gopalakrishna Public trust president Dr Suresh S Rao Kateel, Povai Kannada sangha, Karnataka Andheri, Durgaparameshwari Yakshagana Mandali, Bhramari Yakshagana Kala Nilaya Sakinaka, Chinnara Bimba, Gokula trustees, office bearers, activists, Chinnara Bimba students, parents, Umamaheshwari Mandira trustees, devotees, Jagruthi Vinayaka Mandira trustees and others have condoled her demise.
