Jeddah, Sep 25: Monthi Feast was celebrated on recently by approx 50 Konkani Catholics of SFX Ward, Jeddah.
The programme planned by Vincent DeSouza started at 7.30 pm with Eucharistic celebration.
A welcome note was addressed by Cajetan Pereira. The message on the importance of the Feast was read by Blossom Mike Ferns. Children offered flowers to Mother Mary, followed by the Hymns - Sokkad Sangatha Melya and Moriya Hogolsiyan, which was heart touching.
Blessed grains along with Alu Deanto was arranged by Charles Jessie from IXE to Jeddah. The entry of an Aged man (AAB) symbolized the hard work in the farms. Several games were organized for kids by Dale Gonsalves.
Various types of 17 vegetables that mainly included Alu deanto and Potroade in addition to rice and vorn was served on banana leaves (Shiryoti), prepared by all family members .
Children were enthusiastic and took the opportunity to serve the elders.
The function concluded with vote of thanks by ward Gurkar Valley Patrao.
