Beltangady, Sep 25: “Congress must win the Koppala by-election for the victory of democracy. Karnataka’s BJP is hazardous to democracy,” said corporate affairs minister M Veerappa Moily.
After ‘darshan’ at the Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala here on Saturday September 24, he told reporters that misuse of power and use of money has become the practice of BJP leaders during campaigns to win the election. “Operation Kamala was the worst step by BJP and to show that democracy still prevails, Congress should win this by-election,” he stressed.
Moily added that through his ministry, an investors’ meet will be held in the state very soon and an export ‘mela’ is being planned to be held in Mangalore.
He said that 15 days ago an inspection was made about the development of national highways in the state. Moily also said that he made arrangements for the allotment of more grants for DK district. “Mangalore-Villapuram NH 234 has been sanctioned and it will be upgraded to a four-lane,” he said.
Charmady Ghat Road will also have four lanes constructed with the help of modern technological methods. “For Theerthahalli-Udupi via Agumbe Road four-lane work Rs 300 cr has been sanctioned. Proposals have also been made for the development of BC Road, Polali, Bajpe-Mulki Road. Grant has been sanctioned for Kundapur-Surathkal four-lane road,” he added.
“Hassan-Shiradi road will be developed hand in hand with Shiradi Ghat. On NH 66, the railway over bridge has been sanctioned in Bykampady, and a discussion in this regard has been already held with the railway department,” he said.
“Very soon, a day train will commute between Mangalore and Bangalore. Work on ‘tracks’ in Chennarayapattana is complete and the Mangalore-Bangalore train will operate via Hassan. About Chennai-Bangalore gas pipeline passing through Mangalore, citizens and farmers will not face any problem,” he asserted. He also said that he will contest from Chikkaballapur next time and thereby ended all speculation on the matter.
