Mumbai, Feb: 18: “She has received the Sparrow Literary Award. This year, we gave an award for autobiographies and biographies. And we had done a review of her autobiography. So, we decided to give her the award. We were worried whether she would accept the award. But she ordered us by accepting the award. I have a very old relation with Srujjana, today I am participating in Srujana programme for the second time. Shyamala and Mitra from Srujana have worked for our Sparrow. The release of the book by Shyamala has brought great joy. She is a good translator,” said C S Lakshmi
C S Lakshmi addressed the literary presentation of works and singing of folk songs organized by Kannada Writers Association Mumbai 'Srujana' on February 17 at the small hall of Mysore Association in Matunga.
Renowned writer-translator in the city, ex-convenor of Srujana Balaga Shyamala Madhav Kannada translated Balyakala Mayachala (Dr Savitri Babulkar English original) Smriti Katha was released by Dr Lakshi and congratulated her.
The programme was presided over by coordinator Padmaja Mannoor and inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Dayasagar Chowta, who was the guest of honor, released Shyamala Madhava's autobiography, (Nale Innu Kadide) 'Tomorrow still waits...' and introduced book. This is the platform where the creations literature by the Srujana, writers of Brihanmumbai become literary. When you read their writings, you can feel the meaning and closeness. That is why Mumbai Kannadigas are more Kannadigas. He said this is the feature of near sightedness.
The chief editor of Akshaya Monthly Dr Ishwara Alevoor said lecture needs a critic to find the reason for the work. The review considers the evaluation criteria of the work. He said that there is a need for people's concern among the critics.
The folk songs are of a much older style than the Vedas. Padmaja Mannoor said in the presidential address that such folk Songs is the life of mankind.
