Mangalore, Sep 23: MLA, U T Khader, has asked the assembly speaker to ease security measures being undertaken at the gates of Vidhan Soudha. He wants entry to be allowed for the members of the public who want to meet their leader, and lamented that even those who hold permission letter to come to Vidhana Soudha are being denied entry.

In a letter addressed to assembly speaker, K G Bopaiah, Khader asserted that rules and regulations adopted by the government should not create problems for the citizens. “When someone approaches the security with permission letter of MLAs or ministers, they should be allowed after physical verification. Only in case of suspicion, they should be subjected to detailed checking before permitting them to move in. I do not approve of the present system in which people are being sent back on silly pretext. It is regrettable that many a time people with genuine problems wait at the gates from morning to evening, before going home disappointed, without being able to fulfil the purpose of their visit,” Khader said in his letter.
