Sullia, Sep 23: Convener of Samskara Bharati Karnataka unit and columnist, Chakravarty Sulibele, claimed that India, which has risen to be a super power, does not lag behind in anything. “The only shortage we suffer from is the number of people who are self-confident, patriotic, and prepared to assert the capability and superiority of our country before the world,” he said.
He was speaking on the subject of ‘Scientific Heritage of India’ at the inaugural of the Students Association of K V G Engineering College here on Thursday September 22.
He requested the Indians to ensure that their roots are in India, irrespective of the dizzy heights they may touch in their livers. He insisted that basic science that took birth in India was being used by Europeans by making some technical changes, and claimed that the real facts are being hidden from the students because of the colonial education policy introduced by Macaulay that was aimed at creating servants for the British masters. He said that the present day youth and engineers have lost their self-confidence and self-esteem, and that they have forgotten the zeal to be on the look out for new things.
Academy of Liberal Education secretary, Paddambail Venkataramana Gowda, presided. Prof B J Suvarna, administrative officer of Savanur Vidyarashmi College, was the chief guest.
