Bangalore, Sep 22: A suitcase was found abandoned near the compound of a house located on the 6th parallel lane of Appu Road within Kempegowda police station here on Wednesday September 21. The people who opened it in the presence of policemen were terrified to find the body of a married woman inside the suitcase.
The body of a slain woman, aged around 20 years, was found inside the suitcase. Her body was found to have been forcibly folded for matching the size of the suitcase, before stuffing it in and abandoning the suitcase in a secluded place. Apparently, the woman was smothered to death.
Efforts by the policemen to trace the identity of the woman have gone in vain so far. Silver ringlets worn around the toes and nose ring give an indication that she was married. The body also bears a white thread around the neck, apart from a chain studded with red and white jewels. It also has a tattoo mark ‘SAL’ on its left hand, a mole on the left elbow, and a tattoo‘CHC’ on the right hand. White blouse and saffron skirt were the only pieces of cloth found on her body. The body, which was covered in a bed sheet, was found in a suitcase that bears the mark, ‘Speed’.
The citizens, after finding the suitcase by the roadside, called the police. Deputy commissioner of police, Sonia Narang, assistant commissioner of police, Shariff, and others visited the spot and guided investigations. The policemen suspect that the woman was murdered at a far away place, and the body was thrown here on Tuesday night. A special team has been formed to look into the case.
