Panaji, Sep 21 (IANS): A Goa Police constable Wednesday accused a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official probing the state's police-politician-drug mafia nexus of beating him up.
Mahadeo Naik, attached to the anti-narcotics cell of the state police, alleged that CBI inspector A.K. Dabas had assaulted him during questioning Tuesday.
Police said a case has been filed in this connection.
"A medico legal case has been booked by Naik against Dabas on the basis of a medical report issued by the government medical college," a police spokesperson told reporters here.
Naik has said in his complaint that the Dabas-led team beat him up, when he was called for questioning in connection with the drug nexus probe.
CBI officials were, however, unavailable for comment on the issue.
Two Israeli drug dealers and seven police officials have already been arrested in connection with the drug nexus probe, in which Home Minister Ravi Naik's son is allegedly linked.
