Mangalore, Sep 21: Mangaloreans are in for an enjoyable musical treat with award-winning multi-lingual singer from Mangalore Anitha D'Souza (Samson) along with well-Konkani male voices of Mangalore all set to present 'Lata Ki Sunehri Yaadein', an evening of hit Hindi songs by legendary Lata Mangeshkar on September 26, in Townl Hall from 6.30pm onwards.
Anitha who has rendered Lata's popular songs in India and abroad in a number of shows, will be presenting her own show for the first.
Hailing from Bela, Kasargod, Anitha is currently a lecturer in history at Governmentt College, Mangalore. A young trained classical singer who graduated in music from Sandesha Institute, Mangalore, she is one of the finest voices that the city has ever produced. She has rendered her voice to more than 500 audio albums in six languages including Kannada, Tulu and Konkani movies, apart from performing in more than 1,200 musical shows in India and abroad. She has travelled extensively to present shows in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Doha, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. She has also been a part of major shows around India.
Apart from being a talented singer, Anitha is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.
She was recently awarded 'Tulunada Gaana Kogile' by the Mangalore Sangeetha Abhimani Samithi and also conferred the 'Gadinada Gana Kogile' title last month.
In the upcoming Lata hits show, Anitha will be supported by prominent singers from Mangalore who have plenty of experience in rendering shows in India and around the world. Popular singer Srikanth Kamath who has also rendered his voice as a playback singer, 'Junior Mohd Rafi' Haneef, and Ranjan Das who is also known as 'Junior Kishore Kumar' will be the star artistes participating in the show.
Noted music director from Kerala Pappan will direct the music.
The show will start at 6.30 pm, and entry is FREE.
